I've an R Reg punto 60sx and have been driving it for a year or so with almost no problems, but recently I've found it very hard to get it into first gear, and that when I try to select reverse I can't get it without an awful grinding sound.
I was wondering what I might have done to cause this and also if there was anything I could do to repair it myself.

possible you'll need a new clutch if its not going into gear properly.

Try a little bit of gear box oil to begin with. That makes a dramatic improvement most of the time; if this isn't much better than you could be looking at a new clutch.

I got my new clutch late last week, and its like driving a brand new car. Alot better for gear change
