I have searched the forum but cant find an answer.

I wantr to adjust the handbrake cable on my 95 Mk1 Punto 1.7D. I can't get the surround off though. I have removed the plastic bit at the back to get at the 10mm nut, took that off and i can lift the rear of the surround but the front is still fastened somehow.. any help appreciated

There's another 2 10mm nuts at the front I believe...can't remember for certain though.

If you look at the guides section on Mk1 punto, theres a guide for fitting centre consol that has photos of handbrake surround removal

Thanks.. funnily enough I had just found a PDF you had posted and it solved the mystery. There is a panel at the front of the surround that also needs removing to get at the 2 nuts.

Sadly i was still beaten as I cant get a spanner in to adjust the nut so i am going to have to get a 10mm deep socket or box spanner.
