Got an owners manual and now realise what I thought was a seatbelt warning light, is in fact the AIRBAG fault light...
Does this mean its gone off??? or just a malfunction of the ECU?

Does this mean a visit to my local dealership or a DIY fix?

Any thoughts?

Have you bought the car recently, and if so has it always been on? I ask because if I remember rightly (could be wrong) it could just indicate that the air-bag is turned off, at least I think that is how it works.

Your right enough focus could well be that, im sure though If the warning light is on the airbag will not go off, is it the passenger airbag warning light thats on? if so could be turned off, open pasenger door, look at side of dash, should be a key hole. check and see if its on or off, if it is on and the light is there or if its the drivers side...get it fixed correctly...could save your life?

If you have to take it to Fiat though try this out first, not saying it will work but worth a try, there is an airbag sensor ive been told under the seats and it moves under the seat and sometimes sets off the light, what you do is turn your engine off and remove the key, move the seats and lock them back into place, leave the engine off for a while and then turn key...

Not on a punto (unless side airbags).

johnk854.......stop whinning & get it checked out, there is a wiring modification for exclusion switch problems. This is dealer fit only & parts are £5.20 plus a max of hour labour (£40-50) which is same cost as a night out.
