Hi all, is there any one knows that what's the part number of Punto MK1 sporting 90's RPM sensor (crank position sensor). I need one, but price from dealer is quite high (around 50 quid). So if I have the part number I can try ebay first. Cheers!!!

just ask the dealer for a part number, cant see why they wouldnt give one to you

just a small technical point,isnt the purpose of the crankshaft position sensor to accurately control ignition,from experience these parts never fail much in use,and if they do the car wont start at all

yes and no.

if they fail entirely, say its unplugged, then no the ignition won't fire as these cars are totally electronic ignition (ahead of its time in 1993 for a compact cheap car).

although people with diesel fiats seem to get some weird engine problems relating to a position sensor partly failing.

on the 1.6 90 I've never heard of it failing before.
although saying that, its a bit of a weird engine and was quickly dropped and replaced with a better fire engine.


shop4parts who advertise on this forum are proberly a good bet, it'll be a fiat part too
also your local motorfactor will be able to get a bosch part as a replacement for your magnetti morelli part. probably £30-50 at a guess
