Dear all Punto owners,

Technical advice please. I have two problems which will either make me keep or ditch this car.

1. Steering warning light has alluminated in control panel, city "PAS" twin steering is sometimes willing to work, other times not.(n) Most of the time the steering is heavy. I have been told that this is an expensive repair. The car is just over 6 years old and has not even clocked 62K. This car cost me £ 1500 over one year ago and when I think about it, I think it is not economical to get this repaired. Any advice/theories/opinions greatly appreciated:

2. The linkage to my driver's side windscreen wiper (it would have to be, wouldn't it?!) has broken:bang: Garage states that they will have to replace the whole motor/linkage set whilst the only thing that as broken is the linkage (motor that operates the linkage is fine). The pin which is connected to the actual wiper point, which in turn goes into a hole which is in the other linkage which is connected to the motor. I have tried plasti-cuffs, nuts and bolts and my even (and I know that this is sad and desperate) try to find some strong super glue or even get someone to weld it! Anyone out there experience this problem too? Any advice/theories/opinions again, greatly appreciated. This will save me having to put Rainex on my windscreen !

Cheers,

Trev:bang:

Had my wipers drilled and screwed so they wouldnt keep popping out of the socket, so to speak. My PAS failure was due to a dying battery. So maybe check that first.
