well when ive bin in my 2000 punto abit it and go into gear 3+, going at a decent speed it starts to make this aweful screeching sound (like some 1 rubbing nails down a chalk board) its pretty quiet not nothing to frustrating and with music on you cant hear it, still its there though and might be a problem? Im pretty sure its coming from the back (either the wheels or exhaust). My exhaust is rather rusted and crap, and I think its got a small hole in it, would this cause that problem? and is it serious? (might not be from back kinda hard to hear where its from, could be in front, but 80% sure its coming from the back end of the car.

dont think it would be the exhaust would be in any gear if it was as you still reech higher revs when accelerating in first and second. as ths is only happening at sped i am wondering if its wind noise issue. somewere the wind getting in something or part of body work and making that noise when going fast.

the back windows that flick out are they secured shut properly rubber seals ok ? and seal round boot? if its a 5 door make sure windows all shutting ok.
