Car Misfiring - Hi I was wondering if anyone has any advice - I've had my car since new from the year 2000 - so almost 18 years. Mainly use it for short trips in London to the train station, local shopping with only very occasional trips up the motorway.

I only average about 2,000 miles a year in this car.

Just recently I noticed a lot of vibration in the car. It seem to be misfiring. Spark plugs were change approx 2 years ago and HT Lead approx 16 months ago. 16 Months ago it had rained for 2 days non stop and the car was jerking a lot when accelerating - the new HT Leads solved the problem and car has been fine ever since until recently.

I happened to have some brand new NGK Spark Plugs so fitted them yesterday. This film was made today with the new SparkPlugs installed. I think the vibration is slightly less with the new plugs.

I happened to have kept my old HT Leads so was thinking today to try and swap them over for the current leads just to see if the misfiring is the same.

BTW the rear camera was set wrongly - it was set to motion detection mode by mistake so it didn't record me starting the engine from start to finish.

Around 1:36 minutes I start to put my foot on the pedal to approx 2,000 rpm.

I checked the dip stick and the oil cap there's no milky signs to indicate mixing of oil and coolant.

Car: Fiat Punto Sporting MK2 Year 2000, Mileage approx 31,000 Miles

Any advice or suggestions greatly appreciated.

BTW someone suggested I put some paper on the tail pipe to test if it's a stuck valve - what do people think?

From different Angle using my Fuji camera which can do high speed recording at 120 FPS but no sound and lower resolution - this was a 30 second clip in reality

I'm really stumped by this

I thought I'd try my old HT Leads on my car just to see what difference if any it makes to the misfiring.

- I tried using 3 different digital multi-meters to check all four of my old HT Leads and couldn't get a reading on any of them - was following the guide in this video

There's no way all 4 leads are dead .. any ideas?

Is there something inside the leads that stops a multimeter registering?
