I was wondering what the condition of my fuse box was like inside..........

Perfect looking condition. Each connection for the fuse or relay is a push on connector and then there are layers of insulation separating the different parts of the circuit.

Putting it back together was a bit of a mission. Each connector has its own little plastic box to keep it in place so the fuse or relay goes cleanly into the connector, and all those little boxes are made from one piece of plastic, so getting them all to go in at the same time is not easy.

Had mine open a while back when I lost the radiator fan earth wire to the ecu. Like yours it was surprisingly clean.

I took mine apart because i noticed the positive cable from the battery had a .5V drop across it and started obsessing about other possibilities for voltage drops. So far I dont seem to be able to find any voltage drops on the car that are not just caused by the thickness of the wiring. I was surprised that I got a 1.5V drop on the high tail gate brake light - fairly puny lights there and a dedicated feed to the body computer.

By the way is the poor quality reflection material on the rear end lights there from new or has it altered in appearance? Should it be really shiny or fairly dull and cheap looking? It looks like it must have been like that from the factory. Clean but uniform but not very reflective.

We always blame the connections first when chasing voltage loss. It's usually the case but sometimes it's the cable itself. Bypassing with a good jump lead can sometimes show it up.
I replaced one of the rear light clusters with a used one from a breaker. The replacement was much brighter and cleaner looking. I suppose that being plastic they will degrade over time with exposure to light.
