Paid 85£/20l of Valvoline MaxLife, so IMO not really expensive. An oil change for me is about 17£ for oil and filter, and a half our of my own time.

Just use the recommend grade and change it with the filter twice a year or Every5/6 K miles. And just use "ordinary" oil. If engine is older than about 80K do it more often.. I just use Comma oils as I buy in bulk. I have an Austin Mini with about 200K on and my old cinqucento did 174K and engine was still great when she rusted out. For what it costs I just change oil more frequently. I also check oil level every couple of days..my current punto 1.2 8v has done about 3500 since oil change and hasn't used a drop. She's only got about 70K on though. ...change your oil often...it's the engine's blood

Yeah, with oil change being as cheap as 17-18£ when you purchase 20l cannisters, it's worth doing it every 10000km/6000mi. I can't be bothered checking oil level very often tbh - I've driven about 70000km in my Punto and it's never consumed a drop of oil (only leaked a bit from coil pack o-ring, which is now replaced) - the car has now done 180000km/110000mi and still no oil consumption.Just use the recommend grade and change it with the filter twice a year or Every5/6 K miles. Here here ...but not olive oilSurely we can just agree that any oil is better than no oil?

If ur doing 2 changes a year
Id do 10-40 for summer and 5-30 for winter...
However that never times right for me...
On 90k now, ive looked after it
And only oil loss is via leaks..
Cam coil and sump... hahaha
