Hi guys, ive got a problem with my punto. Went out six months ago to supermarket come out and keycode light came on, messed with key and immobiliser ring and it went out drove home, stopped it and never ran since, light on.

i have spent a fair bit of cash on it now, i am a fairly competent auto electrician but without access to wiring diagrams and DECENT diagnostic equipment.

i have had a new immobiliser ring, keys programmed to bsi and a plug and play virgin ecu iaw59f.m3 and cleaned the earths on the chassis, battery, throttle body and the gearbox.

ive forgot the code it is coming up with, i will get again on monday-ish but it was something like key not recognised i believe.

im at a dead end now and seriously getting sick of bein asked why it isnt running when you do this for a living, you look a bit of a mug haha

just need pointing in a direction and to go over basics with a more specialist group like yourselves.

thanks for looking at my ad and help will be greatly appreciated.

thanks for the reply,
I believe it may be u1600 yes
ive checked the wiring to the bsi to the immob ring,
2 wires to blue plug and cant see anything wrong,
next step will be that monday to rip open wiring harness completly i think, will update. thanks ziggy

so breaking it down...

new induction ring
new engine ECU
BSI programmed but not replaced
keys programmed but not replaced

assuming the BSI isn't at fault as it all programmed ok

and that the keys are the originals?

is it possible that the keys them self are at fault, damaged/faulty chips.

have they been exposed to a large EMF which has wrecked or damaged the chips

you don't need to check pull the wiring loom apart realistically you just need to continuity check the wires you're interested in and check for shorts
