I had the same problem, it was my head gasket. Firstly, try not to drive it at all and secondly, get it to a garage pronto, and thirdly be prepared for a serious whole in your wallet. Wrighty
just drained some oil out (as was over maxium) as this morning when i put some in thinking was the level and now the warning light is nolonger lite....how strange maybe the censor playing up
its was early and i just assumed as warning light on needed a top up! haha it doesnt seem to of done anything. its ok now perfect level. what can it do?
Use the dip-stick in future. That is what it's there for.
The warning light relates to a pressure fault not to the level. Hopefully you have got away with it, but keep an eye on oil-level, blue smoke coming from the exhaust and any 'drips' of oil when you have parked your car for a while.
