I'm thinking about doing this job when the weather warms up a bit - I know that my rear brake lines are corroded and likely to need replacing before my next MOT, however the bleed nipples on both cylinders are completely fooked, meaning I will need to replace them. I thought I would therefore try to do both jobs at the same time.

Does anyone know what parts I would need to do this (and where to get them)? Any advice/tips would be appreciated!

Cylinders and made up pipes available from your local factor. If you want to do the job in one hit, measure the pipe length needed before going. If you are doing it in a double hit take the old pipe with you to the factors.

Or

You could always order the parts and make your own pipes up, but unless you are going to do lots in the future the cost of the flaring tool will make that uneconomical.

Cheers

Thanks for that! I hadn't realised that they would make up the pipe for me, and was worrying about that bit the most. I will try to remove the pipes first, and take them with me.

I like to think I'm reasonably competent with car DIY, but I've never touched drum brakes before (I'm used to discs and pads). Would you think I will need to replace the shoes (or even the drums) at the same time as the cylinders?
