hi people when i put my punto into neutral there is a weird rattle coming from engine bay but when i put my foot on the clutch the rattle goes away could this be the thrust bearing it is a 1996 1.1 55s if that helps.
Thanks.

thanks for the reply could i just change the bearings or do i need a whole new clutch to stop the rattle

Hi, they come with a clutch kit.. you maybe able to get them separately.. but if the cars clutch hasnt been changed.. seeming its a gearbox out job its worth doing the clutch at the same time.

Agreed, No point in doing just the bearing. Just do the clutch assembly. It might be damaged springs on the cover anyway, that might have been damaged by the release bearing.

Cheers

thanks for the replys i might buy a new clutch kit next month then

Clutch kits can be bought cheap enough, just replace the whole unit.

Sometimes I get this on my car but I think it's the gearbox diff bearing, only happens in 1,2nd not 3/4/5th gear.
