Took me about 20-30 mins and i was clueless just before i started. Is pretty simple just follow the intructions the kit comes with and make sure you dont take the fuel line out like i did (DOH!) 
Id recomend gettin someone to help you like a mate just as its much easier with two people.

is it right you need another hose going to it to get it work proper or something??

Ye it was a K&N 57i one for my MK1 1.1 Punto. Im not sure what u mean by another hose to get it working but if you mean a cold air feed then it should come with one. I just bought another 2 for it and managed to find a good place for one but struggling to place the other one in.

so all in all a simple job, i got a mark 2 1.2 8v will i notice any diffrence in performance???? www.fastfiat.com cheapest place so far @£74 quid??? anyone seen lower???

You will notice a performance difference. I have a K&N on a MK1 1.2 Sporting. THe difference I found was smoother and faster acceleration, BUT you do need the cold air feed. That was the hardest part of the installation for me mainly because it is bloddy fiddley trying to remove the blocking plate behind the front grill. IT is all attached now, but I would recommend fine mesh across the grill to stop large objects ie leaves flies, travelling up to the filter.
The fitting instructions are well written clear and include excellent pictures of the car you have bought it for.
Oh yeah, and the car will sound great.
And £74 is good...mine cost £89.
PS...Opinion is that K&N last longer than Pipercross

The main problem with the K&N on the 8v is that it's right by the engine, it has a 360 degree exposed element and the hoses only point at the front (or side). This means you've ALWAYS got part of the filter being exposed to warm air.
At first, you BET the K&N will put a smile on your face but over time I guarantee this will fade and if you compare it to the BMC you will wish you'd spent the extra (if you can afford it).
Just my 10p's worth but I've been through this myself and have in the end luckily sold my K&N at only a bit of a loss.
If you want to know more, just ask (and no I'm not on commission - just want you guys & gals to get the best).

And point to note, the BMC still makes a nice sound, just more refined than the booming K&N (which actually annoyed me after a while!!)

because having the titan kit on my car there is alot of mesh at the front for things like that??

The cold feed plugs DIRECTLY onto the carbon box so it works more like a hoover - actively sucking the air to the filter.

If you want to be heard but aren't bothered by any major difference in performance, save £75 and go for the K&N.

He he. No worries. Fitting isn't really much different to a K&N to be honest, I'm sure i'll be on hand when the time comes (especially if you get the two plastic adaptors in the box that aren't actually needed!!!).
I should be getting a Supersprint rear section this week. Again, it's all down to taste but the Supersprint doesn't have a complete saddo boy racer sound. A nice tone, nothing too stupid.
