sadly ul have to take it to a garage and get the diagnostics read.that light can mean anything. couldbe a small niggle problem or something more seriose
Most decent garages can read the diagnostics computer in just about any make of car.
Fiat dealers will generally charge more than independants, but independants can still have your eyeballs out and come back for the sockets. A friend took his car to a Nationwide Autocentre branch and was charged £48 to tell him his crank sensor was faulty and would cost £78 to repair. Maybe that one is cheap?
Although garage OBD software can read a lot of codes, Fiat will be able to read all codes and communicate with all ECUs inside the car. So it's up to you whether you want to take it to a garage and risk them saying they can't read the code and you then having to go to Fiat anyway?
Is there any performance difference since the light came on?
