Hi everyone.

Dont ask me why but I had to replace my temperature sensor AGAIN, somehow the working one got mixed with the broken and I ended up with a broken one in the car. Anyway, bought a new one with partnumber 7588920, with a black plastic thing around the connection. Anyway, this doesnt give me any temprature at all in the car, the gauge stays in the bottom.

Does anyone know the correct partnumber for at Fiat Punto 75SX - 96. Since my local spareparts supplier (fiat) seems to have no clue. Or If maybe this one is just broken. It also says "Switch" on the package which sounds like an ON/OFF thing, not something that will give you a temperature of engine.

Cheers!

Im starting to get very confused.

Are there one sensor for the gauge and one sensor for the ECU, and one sensor for the fan? Or is the fan controlled by the ECU?

If thats the case I guess the one on the left side of the engine is for the gauge and the other one (the right side) is for the ECU? That is standing in front of the car. Then the sensor (with black plastic) really is only for the overheating diod on the lower spec puntos where I need another sensor for the gauge. Then I guess what i REALLY should change is the sensor connected to the ECU, on the right side of the engine (standing in front of the car).

Cheers for the reply dave, even though I get more and more confused :)

I have been given the same part with the samenumber for a 96 fiat punto 55sx, and it doesnt work. I take it I have been supplied with the wrong part also.

Been down to fiat today, and all they could tell me was there was no one there to help me and to come back on Monday...great.

But apparently when I ordered the part I was told there is only one part, that is universal and fits all! Hmmmm do they know what they're talking about?!
