ok, today started car, engine management light stayed on. then turned off 5 mins later. got home, left to go to work 10 mins later, and it was fine no light, parked up at work 3 hours later got in, and light came on again, then turned off after 5 mins. symptoms with light were, misfiring, and power loss. then all fine. thanks for help.

When were your spark plugs and HT leads last changed? They could be getting damp and causing the missfire.

Just before you start the car in a morning or after a few hours, pop the bonet and spary some WD40 on the leads and coil packs and see if it starts fine.

Other than that are you loosing any coolant?

starts fine, just misfire, bout 6kish ago for sparks. less for ht's.
