everytime i take a sharp right hand bend,brake downhill or brake down from high speed the handbrake light comes on for about 5 seconds. The brake fluid level is fine,handbrake s/w is ok,theres no leaks and the brakes seem to be workin fine.


any ideas anyone???

no ideas, but mine does exactly the same.maybe bleeding the brakes n topping up brake fluid will help?? i'd try but don't have the car on me...

Has your car got brake wear indicators fitted to the pads,because that will put on the warning lights if pads are worn to limits

i'm not sure if mine does, but only recently had new pads fitted

its either,
brake fluid level or its switch

bad connection to the handbrake switch or
(if fitted to your car) a wear indicator from the brake pad as had a wire come off and is shorting to ground.
if you have had pads fitted, it may well be that someone has forgot to reconnect them.

had a quick look at the brake pads seem to be alrite , think i'll take take it down me local garage see if hes got any ideas cos fiat dealer wanted £62 just to have a look!!! told him to get f****d and walked out , so much for the warranty!

My handbrake light comes on intermittently whilst driving, but seeing as I have an Airbag warning light on permanently because FIAT made the wires too short I've just put it down to a typical electrical gremlin.

Certainly my brake fluid is fine and so are my pads/discs.

FIAT extended warranties do NOT cover electrics - which makes them not actually worth the paper on which they are printed. You are only covered for electrics for the first year.... Nice huh?
