Had both wheels off of my Punto today and cleaned them all and sprayed them with brake cleaner, but still they make a noise.

They only squeal when I've been driving for at least 30 minutes, the noise is also stopped for about 2 or 3 mins if I brake. It only happens under 40mph. Couldn't see anything obviously wrong...any ideas please?

The pads were fitted in March and didn't make this noise until now 5 months later.

A garage would probably only do what I did today I presume?

sounds like the pads need de-glazing, basically taking the pads out and rubbing down very slightly with emery paper.

One way to eliminate this is to carry out some hard/ harsh braking or left foot braking whilst accelerating 25 mph tops with no one else on the road etc

Put some coppper-slip grease behind the pads, this should stop the pads vibrating therefore the squeal

agree here sounds like no copper slip put on pads when installed
