Hi there,i have a punto GT,and recently i have noticed a strong smell of petrol outside the car,are the petrol ranks common for leaking?or are there any other things that might cause this smell???

Two reasons have come up on here before:
- If the ECU is "re-learning" after a long lay off: I've no idea why this would be, but it may be possible.
- Hose into the fuel filter perishes: Take a sniff in the rear wheelarch (offside, IIRC). If it's worse there, look to change the filter and check the hoses.
And as Ziggy says, have a sniff around the engine bay, just in case. As long as it's not too windy, and you have a half-functional schnozz, you should be able to get a decent idea where the smell is coming from.

i always have a fuel smell that fume on occasions inside my barchetta... especially after doing some fast driving...

best way to check is to hold a naked flame near the tank, see what happens :D

The petrol smell in my B is growing stronger by each day... I leave the car after a 10min drive & i can feel the fumes in my lungs... I cant locate the source, sniffed underneath the fenders, engine bay but the smell is in the interior... Could it be the fuel injectors? or the fuel lines underneath the car, i keep the car parked for hours come back later check underneath but no signs of leaks...
