can anyone tell me how to bleed a hydrulic clutch on a 2000 W reg 1.2 punto.. ive changed the clutch but get clutch to bleed...ive been told to pull out the hose at the gear box and pump pedal but nothing..try'd with a pressure bleeder same way biut still nothing is coming through....HHHHHHHHEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLPPPPPPPPP!!!!!!!!!

It's usually quite easy to bleed the hydraulic clutch on a Punto.

You shouldn't have
"to pull out the hose at the gear box and pump pedal"

I don't use a pressure bleeder on clutch system - just have an assistant push and release pedal on your command.

1) To gain better access to slave cylinder, remove battery, you will need radio code afterwards (loosen both 10mm nuts on cables clamps and remove leads) and battery tray ( 13mm nut holds battery in place - remove 13mm nut front of tray & slacken both rear nuts, but don't remove - tray is slotted. Undo cable clip to free wires on engine side & remove tray).

2) Remove rubber dust cover from bleed nipple on the upper side of the slave cylinder.

3) Attach a length of clear plastic pipe to bleed nipple.

4) Make sure that the shared brake/clutch reservoir is full.

5) Get a friend to pump clutch pedal a couple of times and then release - build some pressure.

6) Use a 7mm spanner to slightly loosen bleed nipple.

7) Get friend to slowly but firmly push clutch pedal to the FLOOR and HOLD !!! [hydraulic fluid should flow into plastic pipe].

8) Tighten bleed nipple and get assistant to release clutch pedal back to normal position.

9) Repeat steps 6 - 8 until expelled fluid has no bubbles in it. TAKE CARE NOT TO EMPTY RESERVOIR or you will be back to the start !!!

10) Once system free of bubbles, top up brake/clutch reservoir, refit rubber dust cap to bleed nipple & battery tray and battery (also recode radio).

Job done !!!!
