Multiair Turbo Power loss

My car was booked in yesterday for a custom remap.
On two runs on a dyno the results were 113HP at the crank and 132lb/ft.
The car standard should be 133hp and 152 torque.

I have a cat back stainless steel free flowing exhaust and a K&N panel filter. (also tried it with Ramair induction cone - made no difference)!

I was expecting the results be around 137 - 140bhp due to these changes.

I had everything checked other and there was no explanation to why the loss in power as standard.

The end result after a remap was 133hp and 157torque which is basically what it should be standard. The car feels better, but I was expecting after researching about remap power gains the figures should be 165hp and 180 torque. I can not have it altered anymore than it is already as it would be beyond its safe limit.

Has anybody else had similar issues?

Why is there so much power loss as standard?[/IMG]

Re: Multiair Turbo Power loss

There are always transmission loss. The measure is done at wheels and the manufacturer state the engine power at crank - so without loss factor you are not able to estimate engine power.

http://www.superstreetonline.com/how...in-power-loss/

The strange thing is on your sheet the power seems to be crank rated.

Do you have a smartphone ? some app can estimate your power.

How long a 0-100kmh take ?

With all respect, numbers are low, dynos usually show some more than the usual just to make you feel better, but to show so much loss, something is wrong, problems have been shown around with thhe turbo actuator, with multiair unit etc, go to a local mechanic and italian expert and search what's wrong my friend.

Thanks for the information, I have been to another rolling road centre today and I'm pleased with the result:

153 BHP and 262NW

They found no faults and they said the increase was similar to what they would of remapped it to.

So it looks like the Dyno or equipment was not working how it should but he said he had not seen such a loss in power from standard before.

Re: Multiair Turbo Power loss

Nice

Be careful, with a lot of torque like this the gearbox is beyond their ratings... and clutch can have reduced life too, depending driving style (avoid a lot of standing start)

Enjoy
