Switch/Sensor Problem-Help!

Hi there, i had a crash with my Fiat punto evo 2011.
I was hit on the left forward and the airbags are open.
Problem is that the engine wont start.
I know there is a little sensor or switch that is making the engine unable to start and i should switch it off.
Know anybody where that sensor is`?

Re: Switch/Sensor Problem-Help!

Hello,

This is the fuel cut off protection. Check your owner manual. You can get it online at :
http://aftersales.fiat.com/elum/

Page 73 say :

Quote Quote:
FUEL CUT-OFF SYSTEM
This system triggers after a collision and activates the following:
❒ cut-off of fuel supply with consequent switching off of the engine;
❒ automatic door unlocking;
❒ switching on of all interior lights.
The intervention of the system is indicated by a message
shown on the display. Carefully check the car for fuel leaks,
for instance in the engine compartment, under the car or
near the tank area. After a crash, turn the key to STOP
to avoid draining the battery.

Door unlocking in the event of an accident
If the fuel cut-off system activates following an accident,
the doors will be automatically unlocked to allow access
to the passenger compartment and the ceiling lights will
be switched on at the same time. The doors can always be
opened from the inside of the car by using the appropriate
controls. if no fuel leakage is found and the car is roadworthy,
ensure the correct operation of the vehicle by adhering
to the following instructions.
The following procedure should be carried out to restore
the correct operation of the vehicle:
❒ turn the ignition key to MAR;
❒ activate the right-hand indicator;
❒ deactivate the right-hand indicator;
❒ activate the left-hand indicator;
❒ deactivate the left-hand indicator;
❒ activate the right-hand indicator;
❒ deactivate the right-hand indicator;
❒ activate the left-hand indicator;
❒ deactivate the left-hand indicator;
❒ turn the key to STOP
Hope this helps
