Re: Still No car - The latest Saga

Probably but I know about it so wouldn't take it.

Just discovered as well by looking at the Price list it also has visibility pack as well which is the electrochromatic rear view mirror and auto wipers :)

I love the electrochromatic mirror :)

Sounds like you've done pretty well... Visability pack £500 aswell? or was that a cheaper pack...

Well I am assuming its the visibility pack as it has the electrochromatic mirror and I noticed that the bit where it is attached to the window is much bigger than usual so assume its also the rain sensor but only assuming. Didn't want to ask the sales man just in case lol. But yeah if it is the visibility pack then its £150 extra.

Re: Still No car - The latest Saga

Im still waiting to hear back on mine, should be rolling off the production line by now!

As i've ordered all the extras guess I wont be surprised by any unexpected free extras although the dealer is throwing in the TomTom for free!

Re: Still No car - The latest Saga

The Tom Tom for the punto is so expensive though, nearly £300. you can buy them separately for much less.

It would be great if you could provide some examples. I've had no luck finding them anywhere else other than eBay and the prices were no different to that offered by Fiat themselves or my local dealer.

Re: Still No car - The latest Saga

Only the Blue&Me TomTom will support the car port & integrate with the car (though, integration is limited)... and its wirefree.

Any other TomTom you buy will require a wire going from the handbrake area (cig socket) up the dash to the window..... mess.

yeah £280 is abit steep, but im almost certain an equally spec'd TomTom unit is going to be above the £200 mark.

Bluetooth / European Maps / Voice Command - generally only come on the more expensive models.

You get 1 free update, which it does when you install it on computer etc.

After that, you have to pay for map update or accurate speed cameras etc.

But the software itself updates for free, and theres plenty of free content to play around with.

It does, all other models (bar the Sporting/Eleganza) dont get ambient lighting unless they purchase the Leather Pack :) .... despite what the fiat website says ;)

So the ambient lighting I am getting with the leather is just whats there already? I noticed that in the door handle recess there is a small white oblong strip in the upper area and wondered whether this is part of the ambient lighting and lights up the door handles.

Yup, should be the same as already there.

You've got the strip light in the passenger side of the dash + the 2 oblong strips on the front interior door handles.

it does add abit of eye candy at night & also stops the whole "pitch black" interior effect, so on long drives at night u can still find your packet of sweets on the passenger seat, without crashing or fumbling around wondering where they've disapeared to.

I think the Sporting's is a White light (Looks good)... Eleganza's is Orange.

Ok this is not really happening. The salesman phoned me this afternoon to say they could not do a straight swap for the one with the leather as the price difference was too high. He has suggested they get the other one fixed properly. But to me it would no longer me a new car but one that had been damaged and fixed.

He said he is going to speak to Fiat on Monday to see if they can get any further discount on it but he didn't think he could.

What would you guys do? Any suggestions?

Would either offer to pay a couple of hundred more upfront, or expect the original with a nice sum knocked off the original personally.

How bad was the damage?

Tell them you want another car the same specification etc as the one they damaged (at no further cost to you) or your deposit back so that you can go somewhere else.

Well the thing is they offered the best deal by quite a bit, Arnold clarke couldnt get close.
