Looks like my head has been skimmed before leaving me with interference between valve and piston which is making my jtd run like a tractor. Thickest head gasket being used already! Can you just bolt in a different engine or do you have to replace the ecu etc?

If it's the same spec I don't see why not.

Why don't you just replace the head?

Probably will cost more than an engine.

Why would A JTD head be skimmed?

Normally if the head gasket lets water into the combustion chamber they... well... explode. (water doesnt compress all that well!)

I doubt this is the actual problem.

As per the puntomk2 forum, check compression to test if you have a broken valve, I think however it just needs some treatments through it if its running alittle rough.

Often people buy £5.99 for 5litre oils and then complain there is a problem with the engine...:bang:
