Yep, thought of all of those. Like you say the Rover is very old looking now. Seen a nice GT-4 with only 35k on the clock, but ten years old. I've had a Calibra before and although it was only a 2.0 16v, the 2.5 isn't usually compared favourable with similar cars. The Integra Type-R is a good car, but only performs well if you rev the nuts off it all the time. Also considered the Mazda MX-6, but it's too heavy and slow.

is this limited to FIAT only?

91/92 bmw 325i - Much more fun than a coupé, and can be tuned nicely, and not bad price tag of ~£3000 for a really good one. But they are a bit oldskool now, and you might look like a drug dealer (but you might look like one anyway, I've never met you!)

Didn't really want to go more than 5-7 years old because I can't be arsed with and can't afford the excessive maintenance. I know mileage affects wear and tear more than age, but age still plays a part, particularly with the bodywork and the non metal parts.

Plus as I have already mentioned, I don't particularly like the 3-series, because I think they drive like a tank. I did like the classic style 3-series, but they stopped those in about 1990.

I could always get some long bungies to strap the kids to a Cinq. Was never that keen on the styling of the 200SX, preferred the previous model, although for some reason it has started to appeal more of late, but 70k is a tad high. I looked briefly at the Saab Turbo's, perhaps I shall look again. My Dad has driven Saab's for about the last 15 years.
