i passed first time, with 2 minors but that was in the middle of the petrol crisis (sept 2000), I even had to supply the petrol[xx(][xx(][xx(]

first time, 2 minors, both for going too fast in a residential area i had read the night before you should always stick to the limit (ie in a 30, go 30, not 25) so stuck to 30 through a really narrow resi area.

he said afterwards i should have slowed down to compensate, but that as the rest of me driving was cool, he would let me off

I passed me car test first time, lucky the examiner knew my mum from the chip shop she worked in, he was worried about getting botulism i think!! HGV took 2 attempts though, same with bike test.:I

How many of you took it in your own car? I took it in my cinq, coz my instructor screwed me over with his crappy Citroën C3 cos he never called me and booked a test while i was on holiday [!]

I told the examiner that the sycromesh on me gearbox was a bit shoddy and it crunches sometimes, and he said "oh yeah, don't worry about it - Fiat's are like that" [^]

Took mine in a Mini with juddery clutch (they all do that!) and 'limited' synchro on 2nd! (they all do that too!)

1st time for me, passed in a Austin Allegro of all things. It was a right old minger but I passed which was the main thing. When I passed, the seat belt law hadn't come in then, shows you how long it was!

I learnt in a W reg Vauxhall Corsa with my instructor but also had my Cinq Sporting at the same which me Dad took me out in.[8D]

I took my test in the Cinq cuz it is so much easier to drive. Passed first time.

I also told the examiner that the synchro was a bit shoddy too. He said he owned one too. How cool.

Passed 3rd time! Failed the first time on parallel parking, i did what i thought was a perfect one, small gap between the curb and the car (s**tty Peugeot 205 diesel), but the guy reckoned i was "at least half a cars width away from the curb". Heard later on that it turned out he broke up with his wife that day and failed everyone who took a test for those few days.

The second time he was stroppy again. Cant remember what i failed that one on, something really stupid. The third time, he remembered me and this test only lasted 20 minutes. He told me "i dont know why you failed last time". Cheers mate.

What made it worse, he sounded like Brittas!
