hey everyone, my mams new panda should be here any day, she order a silver metallic auto dynamic for £6190 a couple of weeks ago.

one question: she received the logbook the other day and has not yet paid in full for the car, is this normal?

and shes asked me to ask if she has to drive it any different because its her first new car and doesnt want to break it lol :p

she bought it from a garage brand new - un registered from a garage down leeds (i think).

thanks Alot!! Alex.

Hii
im collecting my panda on friday, insurance will be £252 fully comprehensive, with no claims bonus protected,£250 excess, with AUTODIRECT insurance, i found them through www.moneysupermarket.com, after 2 weeks of intense searching i found them to be the cheapest on the web.:)

I live in a very busy area of london so thats probably why mine is a bit more than your mums. Anyway i hope she enjoys it ,nice to see that she choose the metallic grey as all i seem to see is the teskco blue which is a nice colour but there are to many of this colour on the road

Electric mirrors?
My Sporting is a tarted up Dynamic, and I don't have electric mirrors. :(

Is that working on the assumption that if you can't work a clutch, you probably cant work a mirror adjuster? ;)

hey again, just a quick Q i was reading in the manual there is a feature that stops the car rolling back when pulling away on a hill, how is this activated because my mam says other autos dont roll back when in gear, thanks all :D

If with "other autos" she means "old autos", then she's right. The Panda does not have a old-style automatic gearbox, but rather a manual one with automatic shifting. It's quite different: it consumes less, is more powerful, but the car WILL roll back on a hill.

That's where the "hill holder" function comes in. You get it with the VDC option, which includes VDC (=ESP), Traction Control and the Hill Holder. Without that option, you'll still have to use the hand brake to keep the car from rolling back.

aww ok, so how do i know if it has the option? i'm sure she will get used to it though, thanks for your reply

The Hill Holder will keep the brake pressed for about 2 seconds after you take your foot off the brake, but only on a hill, of course. To test if you have the Hill Holder, drive up a hill, then brake to a stand still. Now release the brake, and if you have the HH, it will keep the brake pressed for 2 more seconds, after which the car will roll back. In those two second you have ample time to move your foot to the gas and drive off.
