Is it just me or is my 100hp not as quick as it used to be?

87k miles. Serviced as per schedule.

Had timing belt replaced recently - thought the timing could be bad, but I returned it to the garage and they confirmed all was in order. It also accelerates smoothly and idles just fine, so it probably isn't a timing issue.

Its almost like the "sport mode" is not working (not as sensitive throttle as it used to be). But the sport button still makes the steering stiffer and there is a slight change in performance, so the sport mode must still be working.

The dampers need to be replaced - Could it be that the suspension is dulling the ride a bit?

Anyone else with a similar experience who can shine a light on what it might be?

Thanks

Thanks for the tip! I will have a look tomorrow. I really hope this is the problem - cos it looks like an easy fix.

So I found the earth-strap. I only noticed a slight greying (not as much corrosion as I expected), but I cleaned all the terminals and assembled everything again...
and its pulling beautifully again! I cant believe it came down to such a simple detail. The car is back to what it should be and the driving thrill I had when I first got it is also back again :D. I am so grateful for your recommendation :worship:.
In fact I would recommend that everyone should do this if their 100hp is over 5 years. Its that simple to fix and didn't cost me a cent.

Thanks guys. (y)
