Hi everyone, as you know I'm now the proud owner of a new Panda.
All is not well though, I have found that my drivers seat has hardly any padding towards the back end of it.
Everytime I go round a right hand corner the plastic in the base of the seat is digging into my left buttock!
Is this a normal thing with the car, or will it take time for the padding to "adjust" to my fat arse!

Painfully yours

Re: Damn, my arse hurts!

Have a demo Multijet for the past two days - with an 82 mile round trip each day, partly on minor 'B' roads, I have no probs with the seats - quite good, firm and supportive. Have you got the height adjustable seat ? Maybe it needs moving up ?

I am happy to say that the Multijet is living up to my expectations - a bit short on rear leg room - but then it will be just me most of the time - otherwise it will be short trips into town if the kids are with me.

Diesel is really good - our (hers !) other car is a 130 TDI Alhambra and the Panda engine has lots of go.

Good luck with your new arrival

I find the base of the drivers seat a bit hard but have found that when you play around with the seat adjustment that you can find a position that is quite comfortable. The problem seems to be in the area where the base meets the backrest. :(

what you really need is a HUGE SELF PADDED ARSE...like mine

years of training, olympic portions of chips and kebabs, then you can strip a seat down to the frame and be comfy!!!

reality? little seat adjustments, makes the world of diffrence

So do you think if I bring the bottom of the seat up with the adjuster this would help? I've had a quick go with it and had no luck.....
BTW Panda Person, I've got a 1.2 Eleganza in Steel Grey, I'll post some pics when I get round to it....

Thanks again people :)

EDIT: I've had a 20 minute play round with the adjuster, and still no luck! My poor backside is black and blue. Damn you Fiat for ruining my driving pleasure
Now what do I do? Is there a "fix" for this? I don't think I can drive the car for another day, I'm nearly crippled!

I'll have a word with my dealership to see what they can do. That sounds like a better idea than some "cold hard meat up against my bum" Good 'ol Turboned, always coming up with great one liners :)

Specs - and you thought the Punto was giving you grief :D I'll have to look out for the Panda now :) If it's any consolation I don't find my seats that comfortable and it seems to recline of its own accord, too :(

Well I've just had a word with our "friend" Gerald at DBS, and he said to bring the car in and see if they can add some foam to the base. And to think, all of this came about with you telling me to go to DBS with the Punto! Four and a half weeks later, I've got a different car! Thanks again Ems ;)

No worries mate :) Gerald's a top bloke. I'll be expecting a discount off my service next time I go there for the business I've put his way!! ;)

I thought I would give you an update on my "arse problems" I sent the car in to DBS Desira, and they sent the seat off to a seat re-trimmer. The seat now has more padding in it, but is still a bit thin down the sides.
The only problem is that when they took the seat out, they damaged the door card :( To their credit, they did admit to me when I went in that they had damaged it. SO next week I have to take the car back to DBS for them to complete the job, as such.
At least they fixed all of the other problems I had with the car (Rattling rear seat, squeeking wipers and loose trim in the boot) and they even valeted the car to say sorry for the damage. I can't fault them really

I know I can't believe it either! It's a bugger I've got to go back though, but at least it's getting fixed. Priory (who I brought my Punto off of) would have just left it and blamed me.....
The reason they "padded" the seat was, the fact that I have a boney arse and they said that all of the seats are like that. It was nice of them to do it just to keep me quiet.
