General England Flags !!!!

General England Flags !!!!

Seems to me the only ones with a issue with flags are those not going to the world cup. Envy, jealousy, spiteful?

Lets look at this logically...England has the best football league in the world so it only follows they should have a good team (would be better if more english players played for their teams) and be at the world cup. Scotland are realistic, getting to the world cup is an achievement...they will never win it but the fact of being there and being together as a nation is what matters...and the drink:) Both Irish teams have done well in the past but I dont recall wales being in world cup final? feel free to prove me wrong as I honestly dont know.

So now what...we can all be grumpy and support englands opponents even though we dont like them or we can simply enjoy the games and be honest. If england play well and deserve some praise for effort then good on them after all we all have a favourite englaish team or player etc or do we only like them when it suits us?

I reckon england will get into semi-finals at best as I dont feel they are strong up front however we will see..............
 
So they are related to football! I hate Football so much i had no idea! I really can't think of anything worse on TV. Still baffles me then why English people put them on their cars in Wales, if Wales don't play football, then are they doing it to spite them? Strange...

As someone who doesn't know all that much about football it always seems to me that England always have a great team on paper but they're a team of individuals rather than a team that plays together well.

As for what Draigflag says it's kind of true. Some Welsh people are really not very warm towards English people. By and large most people are alright with me because I'm Australian rather than English. But I have encountered a few small minded people who have taken a dislike to me just because I'm not Welsh :p

Seems to me if you're in Scotland they like you as long as you're not English and even then most people are absolutely fine :)

Why cant they? If wales were in the world cup and england were not does that mean no welsh person outside of wales can support their country?

Agree, as I previously stated thats because not than many english play for their team... remember the theo wilcox thing at the last world cup.

I think thats a problem they (the small naive minority) have to get over not you.

Scotland is very friendly and there is a large english population here. Britain is a small place and we all have relatives that are from wales,england,ireland or scotland etc so it makes it harder to hate another home nation... however you always get the idiots and probably always will.

I think generally the things that Scots say about the English are generally fairly light hearted or perhaps passed down through generations from when the Scots had genuine reasons to dislike the English but most people these days don't actually give a **** :D

As someone of South African heritage I LOVE it when the Springboks beat the English because there's "history" between England and South Africa in the past. Nothing more than friendly rivalry though. Glad we beat the Welsh tonight :D

im all for patriotism but i dont see flying crappy flags from the post office or corner shop on your car as patriotism,

its gross tbh and cause im an eco active driver, all im concerned about is the amount of drag they cause hahahaa sorry :p

what iam against though is police and the like saying that the england flag offends immigrants and other cultures. ello? its england, maybe i should knock on buckingham palace and give the ol queen a slap on the wrist

Ill remember that when i see a welsh sticker in the back window of a car

I will be flying two flags from my car in support of england. and tbh i really dont give a hoot as to what people think of them.

I watched this and was just deeply saddended. On the surface there's nothing wrong with marching against millitant Islam but behind all the "We're not racist" comments you see that these are mostly just the same people who don't want anyone who isn't white out of the country. Of course they'll wheel the token black or Asian guy out to somehow prove that they're not racist but it's a complete load of crap.

I'm lucky enough to be here in the UK and be White and Australian so 99.99% of people don't have a problem but there's always that awkward moment for me when I'm in an office of people and one or two are mouthing off about immigrants and I subtely point out that I'm an immigrant and they say in not so many words that it's OK because I'm white and speak good English. Of course this is very much a minority view and most people in the UK seem happy enough with immigrants as long as they work hard and bring some tasty dishes with them :p

Re the Enlish - Welsh thing.
Its a national pass time here to hate the English , in a [mostly] good natured way. But if you know a little Welsh History it does seem a touch insensive to fly the English flag when in Wales.
But I'd never condone any violent or damaging action, BUT as DriagFlag87 said Bleanau Ffestiniog is a bit rough, best remove them.....
I agree with DriagFlag87 the Welsh people are hard to get accepted by at first, they seem to have an inherent distrust of strangers. Not good for an area where the main business is toursium!

If the Welsh dislike the English that much they can always opt out of being in the UK and try and support them selves. They can also ban all English tourists and the Welsh will have no UK money to sort out all the borded up towns like Llandudno and Conwy because unemployment has reached 50%.

In North Wales like it or not most the ecomemy relies on tourists. I myself spend a few hundered pounds each year in North Wales. All the Welsh percieved hate for the English does is make then look silly.

There was a hotel I knew which simply refused to let any English in the bar. Its been boarded up for the past five years.
