Come on People???? How can you argue that one manufacturer is better than the next??? All the companies make a budget range, and they all also manufacture a Dogs danglies range.

If I were spendiong a couple of grand on Suspension, I'd definitly go for Bilstein, but at the £500 end of the market, I may just go for adjustability of say, Spax, rather than the quality of a non adjustable, say, Bilstein.

In my Opinion, Bilstein, Tein and Tokico (SP) are the dogs danglies manufacturers. I've had all their suspension systems on various quick cars, and found them to be very good indeed.

troll troll troll!!!!!!

No but some people do seem to make a habit of it....;)

I don't really care whether people agree or not, in fact I think it's healthy....But what I find amusing is when people harp on about respecting opinions when they are clearly only interested in their own....

Do you work for Bilstein or something?

Whatever....

The funny thing is that TDQ and myself and RobW have pretty much done the same thing. Posted that we think one brand is great and that the other brand is not so great in our opinion. Yet for some reason RobW appears to have the disagreement Police on his side and TDQ and myself get branded as trolls.

Recently I've agreed with RobW on a few things and he's agreed with me on a few things. Do you not think if I was trolling I'd make a point of trying to disagree with RobW on every point I could and try to drive him off the forum or something.

and of course RobW starts with the insults like that it's that time of the month for TDQ or that we should go read a book. I swear some people are so blind to how people are on this forum it's not funny.....

you cannot argue someone into agreeing with you, but you can persuade them - IF they respect your opinion

and don't worry - I know you love me(y)

I agree (y)

I wasn't trying to argue anyone into agreement on the subject of shocks. You clearly like Spax and have had good experiences so they're what you go for as you've not had good experiences with Bilstein's and Koni's. On the other hand I've found Koni's and Bilstein's to be excellent and have heard mostly bad things about Spax so I won't be going for Spax in the future.

People have their choices and really I'm not goint to try and change your mind because you're happy with what you have so what's the point? It makes no difference to me if you're happy with Spax or with Bilstein's or Koni's or KYB's or whatever.....

:)

I don't think I ever said you were trolling....Then again when you put stuff like:

We're all big boys and girls so I think we can deal with this ourselves thanks ;)

Are you really not expecting it to provoke a reply?

You may think it's Trolling, I would just consider it the opinion of an old experienced Car enthusiast/ Builder.

Obviously, an unbiased opinion is not what's called for here.....

Apologies I was just being sarcastic. Your post was an excellent post as always (y)

It was inferred though.

Actually I was expecting to provoke a reply with that, I thought perhaps you'd leave people to discuss SUSPENSION rather than causing arguments. You've not added anything to this thread other than in causing an argument.

Funny thing is of the people who have offered opinions on suspension brands on this thread, most seem to agree that Bilstein's and Koni's are better than Spax's

this may be due in part to people pre-conceptions - i do not know anyone that has actually used Spax and been disappointed

therefore perhaps their opinion is not based on experience:rolleyes:
i never recommend something i haven't personal experience of, even if i am getting paid to

i think Hyundais are rubbish and would never drive one, but that doesn't mean they are in fact rubbish

I respect that, I truly do :)

But just take into account that the majority seem to disagree with you and think that Koni's and Bilstein's are great.

P.S Hyundai's are crap, I've driven two and two was two too many!

As it happens, the arguing started when TDQ dismissed Rob's experiences of the various options with her usual flippance....You then added fuel to the fire by also choosing to dismiss his opinion.

I only chipped in that 'certain people' (you can include yourself in there if you want - it's up to you) are quick to dismiss other peoples' experience....Your reply (designed as it was, to provoke) did it's job and so we arrive here.

Yet even now you continue to insist you're right and he's wrong....

You should be a politician. (y)

I suppose someone must be "enjoying" this thread.......I genuinely wanted to learn something about mods to my 100hp rear suspension, but after wading through this collection of playground nah nah ni nah nah posts, I think I`ll forget it.....:bang:

Quite like a firm(ish) ride, anyway...

Trefor "If I change it will probably be to a pre-depreciated VW Touareg 4.2 V8 (nothing like getting a similar type of vehicle :D"

Do they come in red?

Why do German car makers only offer dull colours, then get it wrong when they try a bright colour (BMW M3 Laguna Seca Blue, all Audi reds) :) No reds for the Touareg, but they do a nice metallic blue. Anything but Silver, Grey or Black!

OK I'll summarise(y)

KW Variant 1 coilovers are available circa £700
SPAX RSX kit available soon circa £600

my advise?

don't change a thing - the 100HP is a really sorted package:cool:

Are these prices for a 4 corner kit? (I'm assuming so!).

I'd want to try out another 100HP before spending my hard earned first - even as a passenger. Should be quite easy to tell if the suspension keeps the handling good points of this car, but removes the weak points (like trying to bounce into the nearest ditch).
