Today I had an idea - I opened both front windows and the sunroof and went for a nice drive at night. But the point is this time, as usually it is unbearably
noisy and windy when you open Panda like a roadster, so this time I decided to wear a ski helmet. I don't know why it took me 41 years tpo have this great idea. I felt like I was racing at night at Le Mans! And the feeling of speed was just incredible. I was doing about 150 kph on the motorway at night with everything opened and wearing a ski helmet, man, that was something - the fastest speed I have ever felt, it was really scary. I had to keep telling myself - it is okay, 150 kph is okay when you close the windows and the roof, so it must be the same with these opened. The helmet prevents the wind from hurting the ears, but my shoulders suffered, next time I am wearing a leather jacket.

Note for those who are going to tell me 150 kph is too dangerous - the motorway had almost no traffic, three lanes and very smooth surface, the car did not feel unstable at all. It just felt superfast due to the night speed illusion effect and the wind coming from everywhere around.

sounds good just make sure you take it off before stopping to buy petrol :p

it is interesting that although it is comfy and adds safety, you look like a retard, i am sure

anyway, i am thinking of an alternative, a snowboarding hat, i guess

I can't understand the people driving fast in convertibles wearing nothing
on their heads, i only drove a convertible once, at 80 kph it was unbearable,
just like in my skydome panda

you need a good hat to feel ok and enjoy the speed

It is obvious that you should wear a full-face racing helmet with a heavily tinted visor for these late-night blasts.
In addition, a full fireproof racing overall would look good especially if colour coordinated with your Panda.
No, change that last suggestion, your helmet and suit should be white, then we could call you "The Stig".

ok, that is funny but my ears just hate the wind and noise when i open everything and i want the speed feeling - most people driving convertibles
don't wear anything, i am probably too sensitive or my ears are

any tips what hat to wear in convertible / skydome panda open up
in summer without looking stupid?

Never felt the need for any headware even when at 120mph with the roof down on the barchetta.

I think your dress code in the panda maybe misinterpreted by many as looking very strange to say the least, so would be carefull of passing any asylum's or they may try to drag you inside....

Oh no not another naked driver, that's the second one on here in less than a week... :yuck:

roof down AND windows down? and no need for any headware?

I just don't get it - roof down and windows down in a convertible, for example
in Peogeot 307 CC and skydome open and windows down in my Panda is
unbearable at speeds over 50 mph.

I think I am going to wear some headphones, the light, open type ones
or earplugs ( stereo, not those that reduce noice)

or a scarf
