I got thoroughly rear ended this morning by a VW Pasatt
The back of the Panda held up pretty well with the Passat's crumple zones, er crumpling.

With hindsight I ought to have got a Panda with headrests in the back as it was a huge kick up the arse. I was pretty much stationary and the distance between the cars is the distance I bounced.
I could feel the seat back flex under the impact and it would not have been pleasant in the back seat.

Woh! I won't comment on the quality of Passat drivers (cocks to man! damn, I’ve gone done it!), but I'd worry about the damage to your floor plan. Both my missus and me have had cars written off by apparently innocuous floor pan damage. Glad you are OK though, the most important thing.

He was pretty good and admitted it was his fault straight away. I'm actually more annoyed by the Audi driver in front who obviously saw the whole thing and just buggered off without seeing if everyone was alright.

The whole thing started with the car in front of the Audi doing a last minute left turn.

Panda's off the bodyshop on Monday so we'll see how bad it is then. If it does get written off it's an awful long wait for a new one to be delivered...

The necks fine thanks, no whiplash so far... Mind you, the plastic 'Polo Mint' headrests aren't comfy!

Good news about the neck.

I'll take your word about the headrests, I've no intention in testing them :D

The ruddy Passat owner could have let you get used to the wee beastie before getting intimate !!!

Ouch. (n)

Looks nasty. VW airbags go off?

Looks like he were doing about 20-25mph.

Panda does well look like a possible write off. Although only looks like spare wheel well that's gone, two main struts look ok. What spec is it?

Don't forget to insist on getting car back from insurance and eBaying it if it does get written off :p ;)

Sorry to hear about it mate.
Word of advise if your provided a courtesy car make sure its a hir compabny like Enterprise Rent-a-car and NOT I repeat NOT a credit hire company as if they can't recover the money from the 3rd party then your liable for these costs (and they are very expensive).
I know it's not a situation anyone would want to be in but metal can be fixed or replaced and all that matters is your ok.

More advice!!
If you claim directly on the other person's insurance you may have a stronger case to be supplied with a new car if your "old" car is less than 6 months old.
It is impossible to repair as good as new, even a new bodyshell would not repair as good as new as it will be screwed together without the quality control of the factory.
Glad you're OK, looks like the crumple zones of the Passat took some of the energy so your acceleration was not too abrupt, although I bet it didn't feel that way !!
I've also got a Mambo Yellow Panda, if they can't see that colour what chance has somebody got in a dark green car ?

Good Luck with your claim.

Oh dear. Car is provided by Drive Assist. After Googling them I think I'll cancel it.

The damage to the wheel well looks to be from the Passat sliding under the bumper rather than pushing the back in so it may not be that bad, but we'll see what the garage says. It certainly still drives straight.

OMG, not Drive assist :bang:

Had lots of fun with them ourself back in March.

They're ok unless you need car for more than about 3 weeks :p Then they start moaning about money, but just always refer them to insurance is what we done.

What car you get?

Oh sugar, did you have the extra insurance that allows you to claim the full worth of the vehicle?
Glad you're both OK.

Sam.;)

thought that under 12 months old insurers gave full replacement value if they wrote the car off rather than current market value - at least ours does - gather not the same with all companies.
A Long wait ? - Perrys web site says they have new 1.2 dynamic ecos available for immediate delivery.

They do. An replacement like of like for a 6 month old car would be ex-showroom perhaps thats £1500 odd cheaper maybe?

Although I've always wondered what price you can put on being the first owner and knowing the cars history, and then being paid out to have to buy a 2nd hand / used car which you don't know the compleate history of.

Hmmm. Initially I thought Panda was still straight, but now I come to have a better look it seems the C pillar has shifted..

We compairing gap at bottom of the window between door and 'C' pillar, and gap at the top of the window?

Based on that I personally would reject the car being repaired and returned to you.

That'll never be like it was before.

As it's a 3rd party claim on the other blokes insurance you have more of a clout than say if it were your fault and you were claiming on your insurance.

Is it a March registered 09 Plate?

What Mileage have you done?

I personally would be advising payout for the price of a New replacement (y)
