General MyFIAT registration

Has anyone else had any issues trying to register a car via the FIAT web site? I've had so many problems today. First of all it seemed unable to send emails to my gmail account, in the end I gave up and used a different email. So I've finally managed to get logged in but now when I try and add my 4x4 cross if I enter either the reg no. or the VIN I get a message saying that the number is correct and showing me basic details of my car, but if I then press the "confirm" button I get a message that says "Sorry, this VIN is incorrect or belongs to a vehicle registered before 2005 or not manufactured by one of our brands. Please check and try again.". Is there actually any advantage to registering my car, or even using MyFIAT?

It doesn’t do very much except for convincing you you should book a service with them, in which case it already knows basic details about you and your car. Sadly so.

Hmm, not sure what was going on, but I've tried to create my car again and this time it worked fine. Still no idea why it would not work with my gmail address but there you go. I'm also not convinced it really offers anything of interest, but I guess we will see on that!

It offers nothing of use, or interest!
