Having checked my oil this morning, 3k miles in 4 months (autumn and winter). And it looks in the same state as oil in my previous 4x4 that did 9k in 4 months (May-September '17). Oil being done again in April or 2.5k miles to coincide with MOT and Pollen Filter. I would love a Citroen C Zero and use my Dad's car for longer trips but he wouldn't be best pleased.

You are quite correct. When I checked the battery lease was nearly double my monthly petrol costs. Then add in increased electricity use and costs and even this tiny battery vehicle is not so economic. Plus a heater is great in sub zero temperature.

The older cars had a £30 low mileage rental costs and some of them have nothing whatsoever it seems. Renault are seemingly not geared up to see throught their threats to come and remove the battery if an owner fails to renew their Lease Agreement, so there are increasing numbers of Twizys out there without monthly battery costs. Moreover there are companies now that offer increased capacity replacements that will cost in over time following purchase. I'm considering doing that to ours in June this year.

Rental aside, we've done about 11,500 miles in ours for approx. £100 of electricity over 2.5 years, so the running costs would be negligible if you had a Twizy free of battery lease.

How about the charge point installation?

Hundreds of poundd.. or a freebie from the supplier?

Standard 3-pin in the garage.. Charges at about 2kW (9 amps ish) for about an hour or so after a 25-30 mile round trip. Full charge from flat-broke empty takes 3 hours as it's only a 6kWh battery. I've ventured further afield a few times and there's always someone willing to plug the cable in over lunch or a cup of tea (add an extra 50p tip and their more than quids'-in).

And this is before you even start to appreciate how much fun they actually are to drive (y)
