13 months. 9800 miles Yes, the rubber bushes in the air cleaner mounting are disintegrating with the vibration, or they are perished. Anyhow theres plenty of rubber bits and its starting to rattle.

What model? My 4x4 TA has done 33000 miles in two and a half years with no obvious problems, though the vibration if you take advantage of its low-down lugging ability always encourages me to keep the revs up.

I quite like the vibes from the twin air and especially when new passengers go quiet when they experience it for the first time.....I do love quirky cars!

Our crap heap of a 1.2 engined, 14 plate did the exact same thing in vibrating at around 3,000 rpm and destroying those rubber bushes, this also coincided with an exhaust note change and was getting worse, even the independent engineer we got to test drive the car noted it. I still can't believe there wasn't supposed to be anything wrong with it and am glad we got shot of it. The other day gave our old 09 plate Panda a quick look at before its next service is due next month. What a difference! The engine is smooth and lively, in that you don't feel you are pushing it all the while, where the other felt like it was going uphill all the time.

Do I detect a certain level of disillusionment? :D

Every new model seems to move us further away from long term reliability. My old MGs were bullet proof, as I'm sure old Fiats were (when they weren't dissolving into iron oxide :(). Unfortunately, they weren't as 'green' and the bells weren't as loud and there weren't as many whistles. I want the reliability of the old girls with the whizz bangery of the new brutes. It won't happen of course, but I'm now old enough and grumpy enough for that to enhance my life rather than detract from it while causing embarrassment and confusion to my children (yes, I'm a certified retro-grouch, you ought to see me on bike forums )
