I personally think a lot of naughty stuff will be uncovered from this lol..... Also I never knew they done a diesel smart car .

As I said on the VW Emissions thread, I thought it unlikely that VW could create this software without assistance form Bosch, or whoever provides the injection equipment. Therefore, the supplier company knows, and is likely to have offered it to some/all of its customers. This issue is likely to affect every European diesel car.

But if you have a diesel car and are happy with its performance and economy, why worry?

I think this is being somewhat mis read here.

This report is looking at the difference to what the car produces in lab tests to what it produces out on the road.

We all know that we don't drive like robots on the road as like on the lab tests.

This is nothing to do with a cheat device being fitted to these cars listed as VW had installed - VW had purposely designed and manufactured a device to cheat the system.

Whereas the cars listed probably just don't emit what the manufactures say they do in the lab tests.

I have had an e-mail from Ford categorically saying no defeat devices are installed.

Do any cars emit what the manufacturers say once it's got a few miles under its belt?
