The fiat config defaults to regular finance (premier hp). You press the button for low cost finance.

The trekking can be very tricky when using the configurator, it only shows the premium HP. You have to set it for 48months and low deposit and then i-deal appears like magic!!!

Deeyup, through your posts and advice, I got myself addicted to the configurator and monitoring the Fiat PPS, an addiction that has got me a cross for a bargain price.
Have u not shifted your 4x4 yet?

Must say, the cross I think looks ace in black!

I think I would have went for the black if fiat had went for the retro black with orange trim. Hey, it would look good with your boat behind you☺
Of all the fiat guys on here, you should get urself a black cross! You always have good info, ahead of most. Your fuel info made me think twice (many times) about the TA but your info on the TA also helped me pick the TA.
Deeyup belongs in a fiat, not a leaf.

GAR: IS THIS WHAT YOU MEAN BY NEGATIVE INTEREST? Tell about the figures u have found GAR

They're saved on my work computer so I'll have to play around with it again to see if I can remember what permutation I used. My figures were for a 4x4 rather than a Cross, so the sum borrowed is lower, which may explain the difference. I agree that once you start playing around with that finance planner, it becomes addictive!

I managed to get one quote using the configurator that ended up with a minus figure for the interest  Still not sure how I managed that, but I reckon it's probably down to the final £285 fee.

Was this on the cross?
I can only use the figures I know to explain:
OTR 15945
OPTIONS 905
OTR + OPT 16850
FEE 285
TOTAL 17135
LESS FIAT DEPOSIT CONTRIBUTION 3250
CUSTOMER PAYS 13885 PLUS INTEREST
TOTAL I PAY 13885.80
I virtually bit fiats hand off?

So can you explain yours in a similar way as the configurator doesn't allow negative interest. I think you have forgotten about the 1400 saving.

I was writing my post when you posted yours.
Do u have a trade in or the option of a good deposit?
I wrote most of mine down. Printed out the important ones.

Oops?

Just checked out the Nu Blu that Bundes mentioned was available on the 500 cult, why isn't this available for Trekking/4x4/Cross? It's a cracking colour, suit the Panda down to the ground.

I even asked for a special order of this paint on my cross. Fiat don't bend the rules for anyone, well maybe for the Torino Mafia & russian/invader/crooks.
Let's hope new colours do appear with time and before fiat end this mark of the panda. I hear that the new mark of the panda is due in 2018, so this cross will be gone by then.

Sorry for the 500 invading the panda zone

No, it's on the drive outside. Not even tried yet. The thing is, the leaf is so cheap to run that , including the monthly rent, I'm around equal to what I was paying for petrol in my Panda.

I should sell it though as it's loosing money every month in depreciation.

You just know though, that once it's sold we'll have the most snowy winter ever!

Some say white only looks good clean but this white cross has been having more fun than a clean one?

Yes it can go up to 70cm deep but I would only do it in your cross and not mine?fiat-panda-4x4-cross-wading-front.jpg

Here is an interesting shot taken at the Italian launch. I can see the bits I wanna paint?

This one shows the 2tone black well, gloss and matt black together and one day that matt black will be a grey. Still is a lovely looking and amazing performing car.

Yes, my cross is getting 905 of extras. Winter pack included. Read this whole thread and that should mention the other stuff.
My advice is spend some time reading through some related threads. Use the "search" and have a good read. Also use google and the fiat website-" fleet"" partners" U might get lucky if ur entitled to join the privilege purchase scheme.
I think the trekking is a great option. I was so very near to getting one. It even now looks better as it has the 4x4 skid plate front and back. The trekking b4 added options is about 9500 if configured correctly. When I liked the trekking, I wanted +1700 of options. The cross has some of the options I wanted as standard and now only needs 905 options to tick all my boxes.
If you have a +3k deposit, go for the cross. The trekking needs less of a deposit to get an amazing deal.
Its hard work working out the perfect deal for yourself. Forgetting PPS , fiat are giving a deposit contribution of 1400 just now, go play with the configurator on fiat.co.uk, its part of the fun of buying a car.
Have fun, sure we will talk again soon

thank you so much for your reply. i have played with the configurator on fiat.co.uk, but not getting much joy as it is basing the interest quite high [8%] so cant work out a figure at all, this is all so very new to me.

yes ive got about £1000 of extras id like

do you have the dash sat nav?

I have read your other posts on other threads, its hard keeping track. I read you have broken down and need a new car. Here starts the problems for yourself. When you desire options that not every panda has, you have to go for a factory order, this takes 12weeks approx. The key to buying a new fiat is you know the deal fiat FGA is offering before you go to the dealer. The dealer wants you to buy their finance, not fiats. The dealerships I know try to push you to set the annual milage to 5k!!! Really, fiat let you vary it, up to 35k in some cases.
On the fiat configurator, try setting the months to 48, deposit to 0 and miles to 12k.
Then update ur quote and a new finance product should appear. LOW COST, select it. Now play with the deposit. The trekking is already at 1% so if you vary the variables to far then it doesn't update.
Try this without adding ur options, learn how to use it, then go back and pimp up ur trekking. With options added, try a deposit of 1850, update and see ur monthly. Add this monthly to the 1850, update and this will be close to the PPS Deal. Remember, its the total amount payable less the 1400&1850=3250.
Hope this helps u tonight. Away and play with fiat

you are brilliant THANK YOU :) it now brings up a finance deal that i can manage, i certainly agree with you that going in knowing what you are talking about makes a difference, otherwise they wipe the floor with my credit lol

my car [fingers crossed] is still running, and im hoping it hold out for the 12wk period or so, as i do want to configure the car i want.

Let's talk about what options you want and also the ones that I'm telling you need. The space saver is very important, not just for the wheel but for the correct jack that fits the raised trekking/4x4/cross.
Try to list them in order of importance

When I configure a trekking, with what I consider as normal options (no parking sensors or city brake assistance etc) the total OTR price was 14570, then include the 285fee, 148555. With the PPS 3250 discount that's 11605. Your deposit is 174, monthly 173.97 (x47) over 48 months with 12k miles per year. The total u pay is 11607.59!!! Now thats a deal. £ 2.59 interest total over 4 years.
But u could get a cross with the same kit for 14K but you'll need a +3k deposit to beat the interest %.
Remember that if you want to own the car after the PCP term then you will need the cash to buy it. £ 3257 in the above example.

Hi,

We (Panda Mo & myself) too have a Cross on order, bought ours with the discount available under the affinity scheme thanks to the Fiat motor club UK.

Going back to rust protection, I would advise using a cavity wax in sills and box sections, then an underbody wax on the floor pan. I have found Dinitrol or bilt Hamber products to be the best for this. I've found that Mk2 Pandas that have been treated this way from new have lasted far better than those that haven't.

The Mk2's I've come across that have been treated do still suffer with rusty suspension components etc though as they are just painted with a basic satin black paint and not the excellent primers the body gets these days. I know some of these components will need replacing due to normal wear and tear anyway, but if you want to keep them looking good too Bilt Hamber do a clear version of their underbody wax that can be used to protect these parts too.

As has already been mentioned, rust is not the problem it used to be back in the 80's, Fiat are certainly no worse, and often better, than many other manufacturers. A guy in America holds the world record for the highest mileage car (Volvo P1800, over 3,000,000 miles!), I remember reading his advice for longevity was to 'keep the car clean' which agrees with those advocating washing the underside regularly.

Our Cross is due in December too, we are thinking of leaving it in the dealership until the new year so that we can register it as a 2015 car if it only means waiting a couple of weeks. Mind you, those couple of weeks may prove to be too long, especially if it looks like we would be missing out on some snowy fun :D.

Make sure to check with your dealer that it doesn't have to be registered before the end of December to benefit from the Q4 privilege deal.

are you saying it is not worth getting these options no parking sensors or city brake assistance? as they are two that i feel i need.

also sorry for being such a "girl" but what options do you think are needed?

mine
front fogs
heated windscreen
space saver
city break and rear parking
tom tom port
= £13645
£207 month x 48
interest £375
1.2%
for some reason the calculator wont let any of my changes ie adding my deposit, then clicking update quote, it just stays the same as the above workings, funny enough i can change the payments on the cross quote
