Just discovered in have no boot light. Not a big deal. Was going to stick on a little led lamp. Anybody done this? Any recommendations please

In the boot, where the boot light would fit, see if there's a connector. If its there, see if its live. If there's no power, powering it gets a little more complicated getting the body computer to recognise it. Easiest option might be a genuine Fiat one, if the power is there.

The space where the oem light fits is solid and needs to be cut out. Happy to stick on an led lamp. Just wondered if there were others that had done this. Thanks for your advice though.
Still worth checking behind, the wiring may be there.

Won't I need a switch too?
Well based on the old Panda the wiring is live and the switching is carried out by the rear door.

This is a link to a guide for installing a boot light in the 500. I'll say from the off that I have no idea whether the system is similar or not in the Panda, but as both cars share a lot of basic mechanical bits, this might well give you some help.

I think there is no switch fitted as I can only open the boot with a key. No remote central locking and no button on boot.
Ah right, in this case then the wiring might be there still, but you'll need to replace the tailgate release/catch also.
