General Gearbox Oil & Cv problems

Helloa!

I have a 1991 4x4 38,000 on the clock and I have just had to replace the on eof the inner CV bootys and I now have to top up the gearbox oil, and please don't take the micky, but Im not sure where the Hole is to put the oil in, the potters manual is unclear too

please could anybody give me description of what i should be looking for

well it isn't the one on the left that the engine oil goes in... i think somewhere under the servo there should be another dipstick. you fill it down that hole i believe...

It's shown on the pic. Needs a 12mm Allen key.

i thought he was filling it up...

ok, so i was guessing... i was on the right side of the engine bay though...
if he had a selecta then i'd be on the money

oh my god, that gearbox and the added complications of the 4x4 diff... you'd shoot yourself rather than do maintenance...

Ok Dudes! Now Im even more confused!

Thanks for the info, but any other advice?

I think that im going to have to phone my local & very unhelpfull Fiat dealer and see if they can shed some light on this matter!

Undo the plug that's got the red square round it and put oil in till it starts to flow out.

i am guessing the drain hole is in a different location...

That would be at the bottom of the gearbox unless it's on it's roof.

Drain & fill in reverse positions in that case, it will be fine

The drain plug at the bottom is also a 12mm Allen key but the plug is longer as it contains a strong magnet.
