:D Gosh, How do I start these things again?

Well, welcome to the third part of Jim and Sylvia's adventures into parts unknown and as par usual the plan was made in a bar.. Ten Square in Belfast!

Ok, the plan's not set but it's for next September so only 11 months to get our collective arses in gear and get Sylvia ready for her last outing as the Laura Croft of the FiatForum....

It's goning to be a race across 2 continants over 4 days against one of the most up market ways of getting to Instanbul pitting the 100 hundred pound car against the 100 million pound train.
So far there's a new sponsor on the horizon.. A makeover for the car and the prospect of bringing back a huge number of eastern european workers in a 'cash for immigrants' plan that I'll go into later:idea:

Watch this space, it should be interesting (well, in about 10 months time!:D )

Jim

you pretty much gave it all away Jim...

you want to race the Orient Express... nice, but you won'tbe able to drink champagne all the way through the journey... well not legally anyway.

what is the top speed of the train?
so that will be flat out in fifth all the way then.....No stop for fag breaks then!!>...

That will be interseting, obviously you may have slow border crossings into Turkey but as a guide, in May we went from Munich to the New Forest in a day, including a few stops, one of which lasted a couple of hours.
slow down???
only just enough to give them a chance to read the passport and border papers as you scream by:p

he'll be too drunk to wave... but yes, my moneys on Alan taking the train

Alan, if you're thinking of taking the Beemer then Sylvia could be your support vehicle. :)

I'm guessing you're thinking of taking the Sisley though?

Either the Sisley or the barchetta but more likely the Sisley if Jims interested. you don't have much room for that many illegal immigrants Jim do you want the trailer :)

Already got our first few problems... (my) Alan might not be able to get that date off (the train leaves Paris on the 31st Aug and there's stuff planned at his work that month end) so I'm going to need a co-driver that would be happy to drive out and then fly back as Alan would join me in Turkey...

Or talk alan into getting a new job before then:p

Also theres a shed load of stuff that Sylvia needs before we go.. but I'll post that up elsewhere as her MOT is on Saturday and it's not looking good:(

Jim

Long time to go Jim so I'm sure Sylvia will be 100% fit by Aug next year and I know the Sisley def will be as well. Treating it to a recon gearbox over the winter (sprox fault  ) and all new brakes again as the calipers are starting to stick :( I've freed them a couple of times but it's re-occurring so new ones on the way so may as well put on a new master cylinder disc's n pads as well, and maybe a new servo?

 Don't have a roof rack I could borrow for the trip do you ;)
