Hey guys,

So i am going to Extend my gift of never failing wiper splines to all of you guys!

i need your help though! in order for me to provide this service to the panda section i need broken wiper splines to fix!

send me your broken wiper linkages, motors and splines.. let me build up a stock of fixed ones and i will provide to you guys bolt on wiper spline conversions.

no only have i converted the wiper splines on my 2 pandas but 2 other forum members.

i use all stainless steel nuts and bolts to do the conversion.

i currently have enough bolts, locking nuts and nylock nuts to convert 30 wiper motors.

the only thing you will need is a cinquecento DRIVERS side wiper arm and a 15 inch wiper blade

i am also trying to build up a stock of cinquecento wiper arms. so i can offer the complete wiper motor, bolt on converted linkage and arm.

this is what the end result will look like when bolted to the car:
(keep in mind that the one you will be getting will be fully stainless steel with a nylon locking nut)

i have not yet decided on prices yet as i am no good at making prices up.
i was paid £30 each (excluding shipping fees) by both forum members for the previous wiper spline conversions. so that seems like a fair price for just a converted motor and linkage.

i also do a "Repair while you wait" service! :D take a drive down (or up) to me and ill fix it for you.. just make sure you (or i have in stock) a cinquecento wiper arm and 15 inch blade.

i have a Wanted ad up here:

you'll have to tell me what you think about this guys.

any funds made will help the fallout project panda car a huge amount!

haha yeah id say that the wiper arriving this morning, me going out and getting all the bolts and bits (plus taking some lone walks around 3 scrap yards), coming back home , converting the wiper spline, then posting it back up to you is pretty good going :D

Yep, my cinquecento drivers side wiper arrived today as well :) haven't checked the blade yet though

For anyone interested in John's service here are the results on mine (converted by john and fitted by myself)

Very very happy, an essential upgrade for safety in my opinion.

hmm sadly i didnt have a cinq wiper to get the measurements off, so i did not know how much to cut the bolt off at.

when i get a few cinq wiper arms i will "pre build" each converted wiper unit and make sure i have the bolt level with the top of the nylock nut when it is tightened up.

if you saw that excess thread off, onemanmade, and use the little plastic cover the cinq wiper arms come with it will look very neat! and never rust! :D

Just thought I would put the video of the conversion working on here to show you all, I am using the standard panda blade with the correct adapter :) a slightly shorter blade would be neater as Dragonman suggested :)

if you undo the nylock and let the arm sit lower when parked it wont hit the window rubber. only needs to be moved a little bit on yours (y)

I moved it a couple of times but couldn't quite get it to sit 100% correct, though this has more to do with tiredness on my part, as it goes the actual blade part isn't touching the window rubber part at all, and the plastic overhang floats above the window rubber so I'm leaving it at that for just now :)

I would like to take this opportunity though to vouch and thank you for the impressive quality, obvious strength, and vastly improved safety of this modification, and as I said before I will be sending the Sisley motor to you further down the line for the same modification :)

Hi,

I know this is an old thread, but hopefully this is the right place for my question:)
I have the same problem, the spindle turns but the wiper stays put.
The previous owner McGivered a solution with 3 screws but these recently gave up. I tried to fix it again, but only made things worse. So I was going to try Dragon man's solution.

My question is:
Could the same sort of solution be achieved by threading the stock spindle with a die?
Or would the metal be too weak, or the spindle too short, to hold the nut(s)?

Thanks in advance

under the aluminium grip theres a thin bar of steel that slightly harder than normal steel.
sadly theres not much in the way of space to thread the shaft as none will stick out enough to be able to get a nut on.

if you are interested i actually have one converted wiper linkage with motor and arm ready to be sent out to whoever needs. all i ask is that you send me your old one (so i can convert that for any one else in the future) along with a few beer tokens for the materials used. send it using Parcel2Go as they are way more cheap than royal mail.

if anyone else wants to send me any other bits for this, let me know.
what i am after is wiper linkages and Cento (Cinq/Sei) drivers side wiper arms.

thanks!

Thanks dragonman I'll try to McGiver the fix and take some pictures, if I succeed.
If I fail miserably (which is quite likely) I'll probably take you up on the offer.

I just noticed that you are in Derby, coincidentally so is Leonarda. So the wouldn't be a need for parcel2go, which can only translate into more beer tokens :D

Thanks again
