is it doable?
i know i'd get the corrugated bit at the bottom but i dont care as i have sourced 2 rust free marbella doors. if they will fit i will buy them and fit them to my mk 2 sisley. as my doors are way to much work to repair. (less i fill them with expanding foam)

(and im happy as i would get that cool little side window that tilts open:slayer: >_< )

Should fit just fine.

Too much welding? By the time you've cut the ridged plates from the bottom of the doors and welded smooth panels in place your Siciley doors could have been done.

I don't think you were intending to cut the corrugated bit off were you John? In that case you should be ok - I think if you colour coded the rest of the bottom half of the Sisley, or did the whole door green, it would look ok. I suspect it won't really look out of place - looking at a mk1 & mk2 sat together, it's really not that obvious unless you're trying to spot the differences (y) Could start a trend if it looks good ;)

Considering the demand for Mk I doors can you tidy the Marbella ones up, sell them for a profit (even offer colour matching service to maximize this) and use that money to get your original Siciley doors restored?

Oddly there isn't much demand for mk1 doors. For some reason they don't seem to rot out and don't forget there are only about 6 mk1 Panda's on the road, so the ratio of doors to cars is pretty high!

I'd have a pair of mk1 doors if I saw them cheap ;) , but wouldn't pay what I would for new mk2 doors. The mk2 doors are the difficult ones to get & as everyone wants them are more costly.

hmm thats good news. now it is just a case of seeing how much they want for the complete doors and getting them here. ive been told they are in great condition with no rust, blue in colour.

i would consider to swap these doors for a set of mk 2 (sisley preferable) doors dont really care on the colour. so long as they are rust free. dought that anyone has any though.

looked on ebay italy and theres a few doors on, (a set for 80 euros!) but the guy keeps telling me it would cost to much to ship.. and ive told him i will pay for it! but meh. i'll stick with the marbella doors.

time will tell i guess...

well was going to fetch the doors today but they guy wont leave his nice warm shop and look in the closest corner of the yard to see if the marbella is still there. so there no point in going i guess.

so yeah, anybody have any doors to sell? so long as they are cheaper than Fiat prices i am looking to buy.
wanted thread updated.

Just to add, mk1 panda doors were worse for rust than mk2 doors. I have 2 mk1's and none of them have their original doors left!!!

Marbella doors will be much better for rust but will have trim mounting holes all over the bottom section where the plastic covers were attached. Also Marbellas don't have opening quarter lights like the 4x4 mk1 panda and 45S. They are fixed shut...this is a good thing though as the opening ones make wind noise louder than the engine lol!!

Cheers,
Si
