I have just cracked the mirror glass in one of my door mirrors. I have a replacement but can't see how you get the old glass out and the new one in. I don't want to cause any damage so has anyone replaced one already and can tell me how to do it?

Assuming replacement isn't a 'stick on' job, smash remaining broken mirror out, place mirror housing in very hot water to make it more flexible and then push new mirror glass into place I think.

When old glass is removed you'll see how its housed and see what I mean.

Thanks for the info, you have confirmed what I suspected as I couldn't see any possible way of parting the housing.

If you can only get the stick-on replacement (most factors can get them if not in stock) you can make a backing plate from, say, aluminium sheet and pop this into the recess first - I've had to do this twice now as the glass has been shattered and lost on both occasions
You just have to make sure your backing plate stays flat
