I've just had to rush home from Norwich tonight. Don't really know how to put this, and don't have to many details, but Dad's Selecta is no more.

He was taking sister to work when some lady cut him up. Both rushed into to hospital after being cut out of the car

Both are ok, only minor injuries, but I'm now at home twiddling my thumbs whalst waiting for mum to get back with them from the hospital.

Spoke to my sister on the Phone, and she told me what the car was like in some graphic detail, and TBH it sounds like dad is lucky to be alive

Jon,

Sorry to hear what happened, but glad your dad and sister are ok.

It's sad that the Selecta is no more, but at least it is replaceable, whereas Dad and your sister are not.

I think you had better get Dad some Brandy when he gets home (y)

Oh man... :(

At least the folks are ok... Just be glad that no serious damage has been done to anything (anyone) irreplaceable!

Like Trev says, get something strong in and have a drink to fallen comrades.

Hope you're not too shaken up... Waiting for news on something like that can quite often be more horrible than being involved if no serious harm's been done.

Look after them and yourself and forget about the car, there'll be others.

All the best from Luke, Nic and little Sam. (y)

They're both back home now, safe and well. Dad's face looks a bit of a mess, and Sister has seatbelt bruises.

Police involved. Sounds like the lady was driving dangerously. She tried turning right when dad was coming towards her, she cut accross his path, and the whole of the front and front drivers wing took the brunt.

Dad's seat took alot of the impact. Looks like I'll be karting dad about tomorrow to sort things out.

Just a little question, anyone had anything similar happen to a family member? Just they were both carted away and car obviously recovered by the police or something. What happens as far as sorting things out with car and getting bits out and insurance etc? Just dad and sister have no details or anything. I've said I'll sort the imediate things out for dad, so looks like I'll be heading down the police station first thing in the morning to try and get details of her insurance and where the car is etc.

Don't even know if I want to see the car. Could put me off of Panda'ing :(

Jon.

Sorry to hear about this Jon. A Panda isn't the greatest car to have an accident in.. Euro NCAP ratings weren't invented in those days.

Glad your Dad and Sister are OK. Bit of a fright for all concerned, but no real harm done. People first, and Pandas second.

Cheers,

Plug

Jon,

A mate of mine works for motorway recovery, I'll see if I can get him on to answer you.

Thanks Trev. About to call local recovery firm that the local Police normally use to see if the car is with them.

Somehow I think the car is sitting out in the eliments (wet and rain here) with quite a few hundred pounds worth of dad's tools in the boot :(

Oh well, that's what insurance is for. lol.
