As per thread title and mentioned in my 4x4 thread. I need the name and part number if possible to the circled part (which has been welded). I just hope they're still available and not silly money :worship:

Many thanks (y)

ePER calls it a 'support' and lists 2 types depending on VIN number. Early one is no longer available and has no replacement part, later one is part number 7652858, price £126.55  plus VAT.

A trip to a local engineering shop or breakers could be in order.

Yep... the little plate is not available separately, I suspect it's welded to the pivot pin. Still seems a lot of money for the whole thing though.

Dave.

:bang:

Not sure if there might be one on the donor 750L sitting in the drive which should have been collected by the scrap man by now  :chin:

the only pandas with cables are the ones with the centre consols

they hide the cables running over the floor and thou the bulkhead

makes the car more refined too and allows the fitting of the cat where the gearbox rods used to be under the car

Thanks for that bit of info Jim, so does the sump gard also protect the rod's under the 4x4 then (remember the 750L up a dirt track kept getting knocked out of gear )

true...

but for 127 quid plus vat i'd have a damn good try at making them fit, LOL

Jim

Exactly :p

When I order it with the other bit's, might get them to look at it and see what they think it is. Their muck up if they say yea, that's such and such and it comes and isn't.

Bonnet release cable. Would anyone have a part number for that please (pritty please, I know I should look it up myself but these college pc's are rubbish, and again I should be getting on with CAD :p ) (y)

First the bad news... 2 different types depending on VIN. Early one is no longer available and no replacement part available.

Then the good news.... If it's the later one you need, the part number is 7556131 and it only costs £3.61 plus VAT.

Dave.

So that part (7556131) is just the funny bit I've circled then (depending apon VIN number)

As mentioned, the nut is tack welded at initial assembly.

Should be the same as the one on your 750. If not, take them both off, grind off the weld securing the nut on each one, dismantle and swap the good top link one to the other.

Make sure that you check the plastic bushes at the top and bottom of the tube and use the best ones. The shaft will be rusty, so give it and the inside of the tube, a good clean up and some lubrication which will not attack the plastic bushes.

Remember to resecure the nut, you could use a Nyloc or you could line drill and split pin, but if you do decide to weld, do not let it get hot enough to damage the bush.

The entire assy is secured with two nuts on to studs in the gearbox casing and is no problem to remove and replace.

Rgds.

No..... This is for the bonnet cable. Sorry if it got your hopes up.

Dave.

Went to dealership yesterday, and found out that unfortunatly, it is the earlier, discontinued one :(. The bloke recomended I look at canabalising the system out of the donor 750L, but I think most of that went into my Selecta. The other option he said is to get a new cable and catch for about £30 all in. So might do this at a later date. Apparently not only the cable on the earlier one's was different, but also the catch, but this can be swapped easily for the latter type :)

The gearbox linkage is as mentioned, part of the whole thing, costing £100+ so again, was recomended to have a look at our donor 750L.
