Are all classic panda fire engines non interference engine

Hi this is a question that has probley been asked a long time ago but i could find no exact reference to it when i searched the site .
I have 2 pandas one is a 1989 1000 and the other is a 1990 750 both have fire engines installed , are all F.I.R.E engines non interference engines ( if the cambelt snaps it will not damage the top end) or does it depend on the age and cc ???

can anyone help? thanx.

As far as I'm aware the only FIRE engine which is interference is the 1.2 16v as found on Puntos.

All FIRE engined Panda are non-interferance. The older OHV engines are not.

Luckily for me as the timing belt broke on my 750 just after I bought it.

Many thanx for that, as the cars mileage is still low(ish) and going by the paint on the timing marks it looks like it been done once at least and the belt still looks in good health so i will leave it for now.
thanx again.

You might have a bit of problem breaking the cambelt on an 899 because it doesn't have one
