Good day,

Another Palio newb that needs assistance.

What is the pressure rating for the Palio 1.6 16v radiator cap.

Screwed my head up with a snapped cambelt but even before that my car was losing water.

After redoing the head and installing a new thermostat housing, with a thermostat in it, the car still builds up tremendous pressure in the expansion tank.

My logical conclusion is that the radiator cap is faulty and doesn't vent when needed.

Another question, is the cap supposed to have a type of spring action to vent? My cap is sort of solid.

Any ideas and help is highly appreciated.

The cap is pressure sensitive , my friends Diesel 1.9 was loosing water he replaced the radiator cap and a leaking pipe that seemed to resolve the issue , i believe the rating is 1.4 bar , his radiator cap was solid with no spring action , the new cap has spring action ,
i own a 2002 palio GTX 1.6 16v and it does not have any thing printed on the cap the previous owner must have removed the sticker ,
the cap has spring action i just checked mine , the cap is pressure sensitive ,
i reckon u can try and fix the cap if u can if not then get a new cap ,
