I should be looking at?

My lovley vectra isnt getting any younger, so probably next year itl be time to move on. I just have no idea to what!

Heres a list of my "needs", do you think you could come up with a suitable car?

Faster than a grande t-jet
Powefull enough to pull a trailer and possibly a small horse box.
Good on the fuel.
Less than 5 years old
Less than 50k on the clock.
Reliable - or easy to repair at least!

Oh yeah budget - £5k or less.

Or am I dreaming? lol.

dont fit in with easy to repair though do they? dont you have to drop whole front subframe just to change clutch?

Alaina, the vast majority of cars wouldn't be suitable for what I can imagine you'd need it for. An unladen double Ifor Williams will be at least 750kgs I'd imagine. A medium weight 16.2HH is what, 550-600kg? So you're looking at something which should be able to pull at least 2000kg (to be on the safe side) if you ever needed to carry two.

That's 4x4 territory IMO.

correct
cost dad something extortionate (duel mass flywheel as well)(to me that just means 2 flywheels)
we also broke the rear sub frame

Yeah your right, wishful thinking. I do need something that can at least pull burple on her trailer though.

Thanks for your replies so far guys. Its so hard. At least with cinqs they are all cute. Other cars are just meh!

Was thinking a big new volvo, but they are expensive. Or an evo, but also a bit over budget.


Edit - I dont mind exploring 4x4 country if need be, but I think the quicker ones are well out my price range.

why not get a car dolly instead of a trailer? remember alanD, he used to tow pandas all over the country with one, an all he towed them with was another panda

Burple wont go on to dollies ( well the ones we've tried anyway)
Struggled to get a blooming trailer she'd go on! The others we tried we had to use wooden ramps to get her on the the normal ramps! This one works just nicley

Alfa 156 2.4 JTD . 5K could get you a good well looked after example loaded with kit .

Alfa 156 JTD sounds like a good option, the chroma also came with the JTD. More spacious but not as cool.

they are terribly cars, the bulk heads rust and have to be replaced
